In the last of many features revealed before Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 ‘s November 13 launch, we return to the all-important multiplayer. Though hardcore shooter fans can throw themselves into the competitive arena and find fun, players with less skill often feel intimidated by the mode. Combat Training To increase confidence levels of players who see more Kill Cam than game, Treyarch has focused its attention on Combat Training, the mode meant to introduce players to multiplayer basics against AI controlled bots. In Black Ops 2 , Combat Training users can earn experience points and level their online soldier in a mode dubbed ‘Boot Camp.

Playlists are a set of rules that form a mix of gameplay experiences and should not be confused with game modes.

Once a playlist’s been chosen, the game starts the search for the best match within the playlist population. Typically, playlists will range in population from to , players around the world at any point in time. At the lower end of the pool, for example, a playlist of players may only have 50 possible games from around the globe to join on. The actual “search queries” takes the list of all available games and filters it down using the steps listed below:.

Treyarch wants to improve upon the sometimes frustrating matchmaking and party interaction of its predecessors.
